I'll Wait - A Sonnet
I'll wait before your fortress walls, With hand on hand upon my waist. I'll wait till trumpets sound the call, And chains are lifted from the gates. I'll wait until your castle sends A neighing, thundering steed for me. I'll wait until the waiting ends: Till love is loved as love should be. I'll wait until the rising sun, The cool spring dew, or winter frost- I'll wait until they all as one Will mourn the morn my love has lost. I'll wait until your emerald gaze Looks upon me or turns away
- Written September of 2011
This was the second poem I ever wrote. I was true to the poem entirely, waiting from September 2011 to July 2021 - until the emerald gaze supposedly looked away (but that’s a story for another time).

Painfully beautiful
